Got my Deer
« on: October 11, 2008, 07:55:32 PM »
Well I left the house today at 5:10am and got setup at 6:00am. After setting tell the sun was up I started to walk. About 1 mile later (7:30am) I found a 2x4 that my dad and I had found and shot it. I missed it at 50 yards broad side 4 times and nailed it at 200yards running, how that works I dont know. I had to take the first deer I came across because my wife is having major back surgery and I needed the time off. its not a Bad size deer and is the biggest one I have shot. I will post pics in the morning :hello:
O I need to load up accubounds next time, The CT left some nasty holes  :o I had to shot it twice because I tried to spine it and knocked it down then it got up and ran :yike: so I put one in the heart.

"tried to spine it." ????  just go for the double lung shot or heart shot.  Bigger target, just as humane.  Sometimes even with a spine shot you still need a follow up shot just to put them down, have had to do it twice, but both spine shots were not 100% on purpose, and both required a follow up "kill" shot.

Not trying to preach, but do whatever is most humane in your mine 100%.

Nice job though tagging a Washington Buck!

I shot at the spine once and it knocked to the ground and the bullet came out the front breaking the shoulder (he was running up a hill and that was the best shot I had, I had to shot him again after he got up and was standing broad side which only took a matter of secounds.
